About us
Fastpitch Power offers cutting-edge skill building, holistic strength training, college preparation, and coaching guidance, while promoting personal growth and confidence for developing athletes.
Proudly women and family-owned since 2012, Fastpitch Power was founded by pitchers (and sisters) Carly and Jillian.
With 3+ decades of playing experience and 2+ decades of coaching experience behind us, we bring expertise and LOVE for softball to everything we do 🥎💛
What sets us apart
Proven, optimal biomechanics
The pitching mechanics we teach are backed by extensive, expert-driven, cross-sport research into how the human body moves. Our methods respect what your body wants to do naturally, and, if implemented correctly, can help anyone become a better pitcher—while improving overall strength and athleticism, and avoiding injury.
Strength-integrated approach
Performing your best while staying healthy requires more than practice: it requires training your body to handle the rigors of complex athletic movement. Our proprietary functional training + pitching drills, developed in-house by our coaches, supercharge your training routine by strengthening your body while you get your pitching reps in.
We care about whole humans
Softball is so much more than trophies, an YOU are so much more than your stats. Through this sport, we want to help you grow as a person. Our instructors pride themselves on the ability to train players of all ages, even the most highly competitive players, in a nurturing, supportive, educational environment. We measure success not by wins and losses, but by the joy, confidence, and enthusiasm our athletes bring to all aspects of their lives.

Carly Schonberg
President, co-founder, coach
Carly started Fastpitch Power in 2012 with athletic trainer Joe Bonyai, with the goal of bringing quality softball training to as many athletes as possible, regardless of location. She has been teaching windmill pitching since 2005, and has coached in New York and Pennsylvania at all levels: youth, tournament/travel, multiple high schools (JV and Varsity), and NCAA Division III at Chatham University. Carly manages Fastpitch Power's business, partnerships, and technology. She still plays modified fastpitch in the Prospect Park Women's Softball League.
Phil Schonberg
Co-founder, coach
Founder and director of the softball training group Sound Shore Sports, Phil has been coaching and teaching all aspects of the fastpitch game for multiple decades. He is the OG creator of Fastpitch Power's methodology, and one of the most sought after pitching instructors in the New York tri-state area.
Phil has trained the pitchers in many of the region’s top varsity programs, producing all-section high school pitchers every year in the last decade.  Several of those pitchers have become NCAA recruited athletes.
Phil’s philosophy is very simple: provide a nurturing environment where students can grow as athletes, teammates, and human beings.
