Can you show the difference in pitcher styles between what would be called a “Twist” pitched vs. a “Tuck Finger” pitcher? I have students, that due to their physical builds & strengths, have difficulty generating enough spin with the so-called “Twist” releases with pitches such as curveballs. They have however taken to a “Tuck Finger” release style of pitches and now generate explosive, tight spins movement pitches without the wrist twists. I was wondering if this may be beneficial to some of your viewers that may have difficulty with generating enough spin?

As always, keep up the great work!!

Fred – I will be happy to address this important issue in my next post. Physical ability and development can vary greatly from one athlete to another. We as coaches must be vigilant in our awareness of these variations and be prepared to, perhaps, take the road less traveled to reach our desired destination. I am pretty sure I know what you mean by “twist” vs “tuck finger”. Please let me know if I hit the mark in the post. Thanks for the great question.
