Fastpitch Power Core Team

Phil Schonberg

Phil Schonberg

Founder and director of the softball training group Sound Shore Sports, Phil has been coaching and teaching all aspects of the fastpitch game for multiple decades.  He is now one of the most sought after pitching instructors in the New York tri-state area. He runs large-group pitching and skills clinics, works with pitchers individually, and runs pitcher training programs for tournament teams as well.

Phil has trained the pitchers in many of the region’s top varsity programs, producing all-section high school pitchers every year in the last decade.  Several of those pitchers have become NCAA recruited athletes.

Phil’s philosophy is very simple: provide a nurturing environment where students can grow as athletes, teammates, and human beings.

Chris Little

Chris Little has been coaching and teaching softball to some extent for the last 10 years. He started coaching when his youngest daughter wanted to be a pitcher at 5. While Chris was learning everything he could about fastpitch to help his daughter succeed, he learned about Internal Rotation and loved the “attention to detail” that the technique follows.

Chris started watching Coach Phil’s YouTube videos and immersed himself in the technique and mechanics. Chris daughter; Ada, started pitching with Coach Jill when she was 10. Ada plays for Tennessee Mojo-Gregory 16U; they won the 2022 14U Power Pool Championship at the Colorado Sparker and are followed by many Power 5 and D1 schools.

Chris gives private lessons in Georgetown, Kentucky and is the pitching coach for the Scott County High School Softball Team. cslittle723@gmail.com
